POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Prior to participating, all participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.

 

FORMAT:

  • All players will participate in an 18-hole stroke-play qualifying round.
  • 84 players, including exempt players and qualifiers, will advance to the 44h SCGA Senior Amateur Championship at La Cumbre CC on May 24 – 26, 2021.
  • The final number of qualifying spots at each site will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
  • All ties at the qualifier will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

REGISTRATION:

There will be no formal registration at this event.

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org one week in advance of the qualifier.
  • Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. off Holes 1 & 10.
  • Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
  • Materials such as tees, pencils and hole location sheets will not be distributed until further notice. Refer to the SCGA COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions for further instructions.

   

TEES & YARDAGE:

  • Play will be from BLUE tee markers. A mixed set of yardages will be used, please refer to the Event Portal for hole-by-hole yardages.
  • Course Rating: 72.0 / Slope: 134 / 6,596 yards / Par 72. 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense.
  • Call Oak Valley GC at (951) 769-7200 to reserve a time. 
  • Practice rounds are available Monday – Friday for a rate of $50 before 12 p.m. ($40 after 12 p.m.) and on the weekends for a rate of $75 before 12 p.m. ($50 after 12 p.m.). Golf carts are included in this price.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available by 6:15 a.m. on the day of the qualifier.
  • Range balls will be set up on the driving range compliments of Oak Valley GC and the SCGA.
  • Players should arrive on site no earlier than one hour prior to their starting time and must limit driving range usage to 15 minutes.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • There will be no food and beverage options available at the club; players should plan accordingly. Refreshments will be available at the pro shop as well as in vending machines on site.
  • Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are mandatory at the player’s expense ($15 per player).
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player, and face coverings must be worn while riding in the cart with another person.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Golf Carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
  • Caddies and spectators must wear face coverings whenever it is not possible to guarantee six feet of distance from another person.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org or (818) 980-3630.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
